The 1st HORECA Beer Festival attracted the attention of dozens of thousands visitors that whelmed the exhibition center during the 4 days of the trade fair - and not in vain..

Various interesting events took place in Hall 1, not only on the main stage but in the seminar room as well, and proved that beer is one of the most uprising premium products in the foodservice sector.

• Beer Bartender 2012: For the first time in Greece there was a competition of serving draught beer, which was combined with the Beer Bottle Speed Opening competition, in order to nominate the best beer bartender of the year! Indeed, the competitions that were organized with the support of the Hellenic Barmen Association, gathered many participations of skilled professionals. The title of “Beer Bartender 2012” and the great prize (a trip to this year’s Octoberfest) won Mr. Konstantinos Dritsas from Club Hotel Casino Loutraki.

• Seminars: Hundreds of the sector’s professionals had the opportunity to attend the specialised degustation seminars, but also seminars on how to maintain the draught system, or how to prepare the proper beer list by Mr. Paul Emmanouilidis, beer concultant and owner of the Beer & Deli company. Likewise seminars on beer & food pairing and cooking with beer were presented by chefs Tony Cavalieros and Christos Tzavarakos, while master brewer Thomas Schon from Dennmark had the opportunity to present the international microbrewery experience.

• Βeer mixology: Greek bartenders presented all the new trends in the beer & spirit mixology. Specifically, Mr. Ioannis Orfanos from “barequip.gr” company talked about molecular gastronomy and beer beverages and prepared on stage interesting recipies. Mr. Achilleas Karaoulanis on behalf of the Hellenic Barmen Association presented many flavor combinations and beer cocktails.

• Corporate and new brands presentations by _{famous breweries, such as Athenian Brewery, Craft Brewery, Mythos Brewery, OK Athens etc.}

  HORECA Beer Festival was completed with a successful live beer party with “Funkey” music group, giving a new appointment at the 8th HORECA 2013!
