Hellenic Chef’s Association organized many impressive parallel events, with thousands of visitors. Among the interesting competitions, the live cooking shows of foreign chefs, but also the presentations of new products and innovative cooking techniques, this year’s hottest news was the “Memorandum of Agreement” between the Association and the German-Hellenic Economic Association (DHW). The targets of this Memorandum are a future collaboration between the two parties on themes concerning gastronomy and the creation of the “Greek-Mediterranean Gastronomy Quality Sign”, which will be given to traditional greek restaurants in Germany with high quality standards. The Memorandum was signed by Mr Miltos Karoubas, president of Hellenic Chef’s Association and Mr Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, president of DHW and Member of the European Parliament for the German Liberal Party (FDP). Mr Chatzimarkakis was, according to his words, very impressed by the high quality of HORECA exhibition. He also noted that “ Hellenic Chef’s Association’s professionalism is what DHW needs in order to improve the level of education and the quality overall of the 12.000 greek restaurants operating this moment in Germany”. Finally, it was announced that a department of Hellenic Chef’s Association is going to be established in Germany.
